Core Characteristics
• High Selectivity: Affinity to metal ions, order (strongest to weakest): Cu²⁺ > VO₂⁺ > UO₂⁺ > Pb²⁺ > Ni²⁺ > Cd²⁺ > Co²⁺ > Ca²⁺ > Mg²⁺ > Sr²⁺ > Ba²⁺ >> Na⁺.
• Monodisperse Advantages: Uniform particle size, strong mechanical/osmotic stability, fast exchange kinetics, and stable effluent quality (e.g., calcium can be reduced to < 20 ppb).
• pH-dependent Capacity: Working capacity at pH 10 is approximately 3 times that at pH 7. • At pH 10 and Ca²⁺ 1–5 ppm, 1 L of resin can exchange approximately 12 g of Ca²⁺.
• Anti-interference ability: It can still efficiently remove Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, and Sr²⁺ even in the presence of high-concentration brine (such as chlor-alkali brine) and Fe³⁺.
Typical Applications
• Chlor-alkali industrial brine refining: Removal of Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, Ba²⁺, and Sr²⁺; protection of membrane electrolytic cells.
• Influent pH 8–11, flow rate 20–30 BV/h, residual calcium < 20 ppb.
• Hydrometallurgy: Removal of heavy metals from sulfate/chloride electrolytes, rare earth separation, and removal of calcium and magnesium from battery recovery solutions.
• Wastewater treatment: Removal of Pb²⁺/Ni²⁺/Cd²⁺ from electroplating/PCB wastewater, removal of heavy metals from drinking water, and removal of hardness from high-salinity wastewater.
• Food and pharmaceutical: Removal of calcium and magnesium from sugar solutions, and removal of heavy metals from gelatin/amino acid solutions.
